Orientation
Module Overview
This module will help you get going in your course. Make sure you complete all tasks in this module, as they are designed to help you become familiar with the technical aspects of the course and how to conduct yourself in an online learning environment. Read the objectives below so you gain an understanding of what you should be able to accomplish after completing this module. Then work through the Task List. The Task List is similar to the table of contents on the left hand side menu of your course.
Module Objectives
By the end of this module you should be able to:
- Use the Course Syllabus as a reference for the course requirements, grading scheme, and course policies.
- Identify where to obtain technical and academic assistance.
- Use the Netiquette document and video as a reference for proper course netiquette.
- Use the Academic Honesty document and provided resources to avoid plagiarism.
- Use the Assignments tool to submit an assignment
- Use the Discussion Board to post a topic and tell your classmates about yourself.
- Use the Quizzing tool to take and submit a quiz.

- View Welcome message from your instructor (5 minutes)
- Review the Getting Started Overview (5 minutes)
- Read the Course Syllabus (10 minutes)
- Review the requirements for Proctored Exams (5 minutes)
- Read Course Netiquette (5 minutes)
- Read Academic Honesty (10 minutes)
- Review Getting Technical Help (5 minutes)
- Review the CougarVIEW-D2L Starter Guide (10 minutes)
- Use the Assignment tool to submit the Getting to Know Assignments(5 minutes)
- Use the Assignment tool to submit two forms for the course: Security Course Agreement Form and Academic Honesty Commitment Form (5 minutes)
- Use the Discussion board to post a little about yourself to the class (15 minutes)
- Take a Quiz over the Getting Started-Begin Here module (5 minutes)
- Read the Module Review (5 minutes)
